INVESTMENT STRATEGY & CRITERIA    
Envest focuses on privately-held businesses in basic industries and non-revolutionary technologies. Envest provides growth capital to cash generative businesses at various stages of growth with proven management teams. We seek companies with superior market positioning and a well defined execution plan. While we may consider start-up opportunities, our primary focus is early to mid stage companies, which have attained early market success and require equity capital for growth. Please see the Investment Strategy & Criteria section for a detailed description of our investment approach. Envest initially invests $1.5 - $3.0 million, with a maximum of $5 million per investment. We often take a lead role, though this is not a requirement. We invest alongside strong investor syndicates with sufficient capital to fund the business until a liquidity event is possible. We focus on businesses located in Virginia; however, we expect to invest at least 50% of our fund in other states along the East Coast. Targeted industries include: Manufacturing, Specialty Finance, Healthcare Services, Franchising and Software. Envest is a founding member of Franchise Mentors.
