Investment Focus

Envest focuses on privately-held businesses in basic industries and non-revolutionary technologies.  Envest provides equity capital at various stages of growth with proven management teams.  We seek companies with competitive advantages, the potential to be first in class and with well-defined execution plans.  While we may consider start-up opportunities, our primary focus is early to mid stage companies, which have attained early market success and require equity capital for growth.  Please see the Investment Profile & Criteria section for a detailed description of our investment approach.

Envest invests between $2.0 million to $7.0 million in a single portfolio company.  We often take a lead role, though this is not a requirement.   We generally invest alongside strong investor syndicates with sufficient capital to fund the business until a liquidity event is possible.  

We invest in domestic businesses with a focus on the eastern portion of the United States.    

Targeted industries include: Manufacturing, Specialty Finance, Healthcare Services, Franchising and Software.  The industries in which Envest has previously invested include tax preparation, asset-backed lending, community banking, life insurance, healthcare financial services, managed healthcare, wellness, medical products distribution, computer manufacturing, pharmaceutical servies, paper processing, aluminum manufacturing, medical equipment manufacturing, computer software products, ship repair, and moving and storage.
