- Investment Size: Build a diversified portfolio of 10-15 companies; 10% maximum per holding.
- Investor Role: Provide board governance and direction.
- Active Participation: Active involvement in strategic development of each investment.
Investment Criteria
Investments are made following a thorough and collaborative evaluation process. Generally, a prospective portfolio company must have a number of the following characteristics: - Management team has the integrity, skills, experience and commitment to execute the business plan successfully.
- Well defined market opportunity exists and provides the appropriate growth potential.
- Competitive positioning to better meet customer needs and sustain its advantage.
- Financial projections meet the objectives of both the founders and investors.
- Business plan supported by sourced market information has been developed (or will be with the Manager's support).
- Realistic exit options are available within a 3-7 year period.
- Management that will be responsive to the Manager's strategic involvement.
Envest actively screens investment opportunities that potentially meet the Fund's investment strategy and criteria. Once identified, a formal due diligence process will be followed to fully evaluate the venture's prospects.
